As an Export Control Officer, you will play a key role in safeguarding our international business operations. You will be responsible for identifying and managing risks related to export control and sanctions, implementing global standards at a local level, and ensuring ongoing compliance with national and international regulations.

Your work will directly support the strategic and operational integrity of cross-border transactions by applying expert knowledge and proactively identifying potential legal or regulatory risks.

Job Description

Policy and Process Implementation

Implement and monitor compliance with export control lawsLocalize and apply global standards and proceduresConduct internal reviews of export control processesAct as the main point of contact for all export control–related inquiries at local levelMonitor changes in national legislation and ensure timely adjustments to processesPrepare and maintain required documentation and audit trailsCoordinate with relevant stakeholders in implementing export control policies across business functions

Operational Execution

Manage export control checks and resolve related blocks in IT systems (e.g., SAP GTS)Escalate high-risk issues to central Export Control leadership and local commercial managementMaintain full documentation in accordance with internal and external audit requirements

Monitoring and Reporting

Perform ongoing monitoring of daily operations for compliance riskReport to global Export Control leadership and local commercial leadershipExecute annual compliance reviews and issue reports to designated stakeholdersMaintain communication with local authorities and manage license applicationsRepresent the company in external audits and investigations related to export control

Qualifications

Education

University degree in Business Administration, International Business Law, Trade Compliance, or a related field

Experience

Several years of relevant experience in export controlDeep understanding of national export control regulationsExperience working in a multinational or matrix organization is preferredExperience with ERP and compliance systems (SAP GTS preferred)

Skills and Attributes

Strong analytical skills and risk-awareness in a complex regulatory environmentExcellent organizational and project management skillsClear and persuasive communicator, able to explain complex topics to diverse audiencesHigh stress tolerance and ability to make independent compliance decisionsDemonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and sound judgmentAbility to work collaboratively in a multicultural and cross-functional environmentFluent in written and spoken English; additional languages are an asset
