Your role:
Join our Export Control Europe team as a Trade Compliance Expert for France.
You will ensure the local implementation of global trade compliance standards, support import operations, and contribute to regulatory alignment across France, Iberia, and Italy, reporting to the Manager Trade Compliance South.
Ensure local implementation of trade compliance standardsMonitor and communicate applicable national and regional trade regulationsMaintain local licenses and support import authorization processesClassify products (HS/ECCN), assess jurisdictions, and ensure accurate declarationsLiaise with customs authorities, brokers, and regulatory bodiesSupport audits, reporting, recordkeeping, order screening, and monitoring activitiesConduct compliance audits of internal teams and external service providersReview and classify products per government agency requirements (e.g. drug enforcement)Perform customer and transaction screenings (sanctions, licenses, end-user statements)Advise internal teams on import-related compliance mattersReport incidents and ensure alignment with company’s trade compliance policies and best practices
Who You Are:
Master’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or Biochemistry, with at least three years’ experience in a government-regulated industry or equivalent education/experienceStrong understanding of business needs, commercial operations, and logistics processesIn-depth knowledge of HS codes, ECCN, and customs tariff regulationsComfortable working in a cross-functional team and managing multiple prioritiesStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsHigh sense of responsibility, ownership, and customer focusFamiliar with ORACLE and SAP Global Trade ServicesExcellent communication skills in both French and EnglishOrganized, detail-oriented, and process-drivenAgile thinker, capable of handling complexity and driving improvementProficient in MS Office and Internet toolsSelf-driven and able to work independently
