Job Summary

The Expert, Integrated Talent Management is responsible for the development and deployment of programs under their responsibility related to career management, succession and talent review process, skills of the future, and performance management.

Main Responsibilities

Career Programs

·         Develop career framework and tools align with the integrated talent management strategy

·         Develop and maintain the success profiles for key roles

·         Evaluate the effectiveness of career strategy through feedback, surveys and assessments and make necessary adjustments

Succession Planning & Talent Review

·         Lead the implementation plan of succession planning and talent review framework and strategies

·         Analyze and prepare information to provide succession planning insights to leaders and executives

·         Coach HR teams for succession planning and talent review rollouts

·         Maintain the Competency & Skills Framework and inventory

·         Stay informed about market trends, industry standards, and emerging technologies to introduce relevant best practices and innovative solutions to CN, ensuring that the talent pipeline is robust

·         Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of succession planning programs

Performance Management

·         Support the implementation of the performance management strategy and framework, including annual performance review and performance improvement (PIP)

·         Develop training materials for HR teams to coach people leaders on effective performance management practices

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and manage stress. The role requires minimal travel (~15%) to various CN properties.

Requirements

Experience

Talent Management

·         5-8 years of progressive experience in HR, talent management or organizational development

Education/Certification/Designation

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

·         Master’s Degree in Human Resources, or a related field*

·         Certified Human Resource Professional (CPHR)*

*Any designation for these above would be considered as an asset
