This advanced building brings every stage of care under one roof, featuring dedicated spaces for outpatient services, surgery, stepdown, ICU and epilepsy monitoring, as well as additional operating rooms and expanded ambulatory, infusion, imaging, EMG, sleep and rehabilitation services. The G20/H22 Neurological Intensive Care Unit provides complex neurological medical and surgical services. As a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, this floor offers medical support for numerous conditions, including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subdural hematomas, status epilepticus/seizures, brain tumors, neuromuscular disorders and spinal injuries. As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. Within the Neurological Institute, you benefit from extensive hands-on experience using the latest technologies and insight from the best caregivers in the field. As you interact directly with patients, families and visitors, you also gain an opportunity to enhance their experience and show them the Cleveland Clinic difference.
The position consists of two 12-hour shifts per week. The standard schedule is rotational, alternating between:
7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
If a candidate prefers not to work a rotating schedule, a straight night shift option is available for the two 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM).
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
**If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment.
One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
