Boeing Global Service (BGS) is looking for an Experienced Avionics Technician to join our F-15 EPAWSS team in San Antonio, TX.

Position Responsibilities:

Ability to apply technical knowledge to solve problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers’ manuals or similar documentsUnderstand the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments (high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment)Perform aircraft bench and/or flight line operational testing and troubleshooting in accordance with manufacturer, company, supplier and other directivesPerform assembly, installation, check-out physical characteristics, operational testing and modification of wire bundles in the testing, development and modification of aircraft in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, company, supplier and other directivesConsult management and peers to assess and determine efficient, first-time quality processesAssist teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasksAbility to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projectsInterpret standard work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, wire diagrams, formulas, sketches, verbal and electronic orders, job layouts, etc. to accomplish assigned workEnsure that all equipment is used in accordance with established safety and operating proceduresDiagnose and correct malfunctions occurring in assembly processes.Use precision measuring instruments, gauges, tools, etc., necessary to check dimensions and conformance to quality requirementsAbility to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.Must be familiar with Hazardous Energy and Lock Out /Tag systems applications to ensure working environment is deemed safe for access and on the job performanceAssist other team members (General Mechanics, Structures, Electrics) to ensure cost/schedule targets are met

This position requires the ability to pass an assessment during the training cycle.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

8+ years of experience on an F-15 platform program8+ years of experience with electrical/electronic theories and aircraft avionics systems8+ years of experience in working with specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures8+ years of experience with component and wire installation: (repairing, modifying, testing and troubleshooting new, experimental, and disturbed systems)8+ years of experience with aircraft computer systems and basic office softwareAbility to work variable shifts including weekends and overtime

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experience on fighter platformsExperience with EPAWSS ModificationExperience working with COMSEC, Radar, or Electronic Warfare SystemsOperate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment to accomplish work assignment.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Starting Pay Rate: $78,000 / $37.50 per hour

Additive Pay:

$1.00/hourly for Airframe Certification

$1.00/hourly for Powerplant Certification

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
