As an Exercise Physiologist, you will develop individualized exercise prescriptions and oversee exercise progression for patients with cardiovascular disease in a cardiac rehabilitation setting. You will provide direct patient care to individuals recovering from open-heart surgery and percutaneous coronary interventions, delivering high-quality support across both acute and outpatient phases of recovery. In this role, you will collaborate within a multi-site organization to care for complex patients who have undergone advanced cardiac procedures, ensuring safe and effective rehabilitation. **This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working shifts varying between 6:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.** **_Caregivers in this role will cover both Mercy and North Canton locations._** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide patient testing before and after rehabilitation, including strength, body composition, flexibility, balance and endurance. + Provide exercise prescriptions for patients utilizing test data, patient status and current medication regimen. + Update exercise prescriptions according to patient response. + Implement concepts of cardiac secondary prevention. + Recognize contraindications to exercise and abnormal patient responses to exercise. + Appropriately respond to all situations including exercise cessation and referral to medical professionals. + Provide exercise information to patients, peers and the community through public speaking and education classes. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor's or Master's degree in exercise-related field + Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Background in Cardiac Rehabilitation + Experience with Inpatient Care (Post-Surgery Patients, Monitoring Vitals, etc.) + Working Knowledge of EKG Rhythms + Understanding of Telemetry Monitoring (Tele) **Physical Requirements:** + Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time and ability to help patients stand and walk. + Will require some lifting, bending, twisting of upper extremity to help limited patients. + Must be able to adapt to different room temperatures in exercise. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. **Pay Range** Minimum hourly: $25.50 Maximum hourly: $25.50 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
