Exercise Physiologist

As an Exercise Physiologist, you will develop individualized exercise prescriptions and oversee exercise progression for patients with cardiovascular disease in a rehabilitative setting. In this role, you will conduct patient testing before and after rehabilitation, including assessments of strength, body composition, flexibility, balance, and endurance. Using test data, patient status, and current medication regimens, you will create and update exercise prescriptions based on patient responses. Our ideal candidate is passionate about community health and thrives in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment, bringing strong clinical knowledge in exercise prescription as well as expertise in assessing and managing individuals with chronic diseases, particularly metabolic and obesity-related conditions. Success in this role requires adaptability, cultural humility, and the ability to engage patients across a wide spectrum of fitness levels. **A caregiver in this role works days from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with Saturday requirements.** **_This position will primarily float between Langston Hughes, Lutheran, and Euclid._** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide patient testing before and after rehabilitation, including strength, body composition, flexibility, balance and endurance. + Provide exercise prescriptions for patients utilizing test data, patient status and current medication regimen. + Update exercise prescriptions according to patient response. + Implement concepts of cardiac secondary prevention. + Recognize contraindications to exercise and abnormal patient responses to exercise. + Appropriately respond to all situations including exercise cessation and referral to medical professionals. + Provide exercise information to patients, peers and the community through public speaking and education classes. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor's or Master's degree in exercise-related field + Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + One to two years of EP work in healthcare setting + Experience with data-driven care and comfort using smart gym technology **Physical Requirements:** + Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time and ability to help patients stand and walk. + Will require some lifting, bending, twisting of upper extremity to help limited patients. + Must be able to adapt to different room temperatures in exercise. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. **Pay Range** Minimum hourly: $18.88 Maximum hourly: $28.80 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education.
