Our team and what we’ll accomplish together
TELUS Health Care Centres is currently looking for an Exercise Physiologist to support our Edmonton Centre. The Exercise Physiologist will be responsible for conducting clinical testing, providing consultations, and delivering personalized fitness assessments for Life Plus and corporate health clients. They will collaborate closely with other clinic staff, physicians, and administrators to ensure comprehensive, client-centered care.
What you’ll do
Work with varied allied health clinicians including dietitians, nurses, doctors, nurse practitioners and the lab team to provide an excellent client experience
Confer professionally with medical personnel regarding abnormalities and results
Conduct personalized fitness evaluations, rehabilitation consultations and personal training sessions
Adhere to protocols for personalized kinesiology evaluations of musculoskeletal, strength testing and aerobic testing
Conduct various aerobic fitness test protocols (V02max, Bruce, Gerkins, modified Bruce, etc)
Provide 1 on 1 and group training services and personalized exercise programs
Provide clients with advice and recommendations according to assessment results
Perform other testing and clinic-related tasks as required including ordering of medical supplies
Abide by cleaning and sanitation protocols for medical equipment, gym equipment
What you bring
Education:
Completed Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics, Exercise Sciences or Kinesiology
Master’s degree in Kinesiology considered an asset
Registration with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology as an Exercise Physiologist
CPR/First Aid AED Certification
Experience:
Experience in lifestyle counseling and ongoing client management
Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written
Ability to prioritize and make decisions affecting patient care
Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision, while delivering highest level of patient care
Self-starter who demonstrates attention to detail, a high level of accountability and sound judgment
Experience and interest in preventative health and education with desire for growth
Flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment
Work well under pressure and demonstrate a sense of urgency in completing time sensitive tasks
Experience with electronic health charting considered an asset
