**Position Overview:**
As the **Executive Vice President, Complex Risk Practice Leader** , you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and execution of risk management solutions for high-value, complex commercial accounts. This executive-level leader will drive innovation in risk assessment, placement, and mitigation strategies while enhancing the firm’s competitive position in the marketplace. The role requires deep expertise in risk analytics, underwriting, brokerage operations, and client advisory for large and intricate P&C insurance programs.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Strategic Leadership & Business Growth**
+ Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for complex risk management, aligning with the firm’s business objectives.
+ Lead a high-performing team of risk advisors to deliver tailored solutions for sophisticated clients.
+ Foster relationships with major carriers, reinsurers, and industry stakeholders to enhance placement capabilities.
+ Identify emerging risk trends and market opportunities, driving innovation in risk advisory services.
**Client Advisory & Risk Solutions**
+ Act as a senior advisor to C-suite executives and risk managers of major corporations, offering strategic risk insights.
+ Oversee the design, negotiation, and placement of intricate P&C insurance programs, ensuring optimal coverage and cost efficiency.
+ Develop risk modeling, analytics, and alternative risk financing solutions (e.g., captives, self-insurance, structured programs).
+ Lead crisis management and claims advocacy for large, complex losses, ensuring superior client support.
**Operational Excellence & Team Leadership**
+ Drive operational efficiency by implementing best practices in risk assessment, policy structuring, and client service.
+ Serve as the talent ambassador responsible for attracting top talent by promoting the company’s culture, values, and career opportunities. Act as a bridge between potential candidates and the organization, advise on service team alignment and assist with a positive onboarding experience.
+ Mentor and develop next-generation risk leaders within the firm, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
+ Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, compliance, and service teams, to enhance risk governance.
+ Ensure alignment with regulatory standards and industry best practices in P&C insurance and risk management.
**Qualifications & Experience:**
+ 15+ years of experience in commercial insurance, risk management, or brokerage, with a focus on complex P&C risks.
+ Proven leadership experience in a senior executive role at a brokerage firm, carrier, or large risk management entity.
+ Deep knowledge of large commercial insurance programs, specialty lines, alternative risk transfer mechanisms, and emerging risks.
+ Strong track record of developing client relationships and delivering innovative risk solutions.
+ Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
+ Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, CPCU, ARM, or similar designation) preferred.
+ P&C license required
The expected pay range for this position is $250,000 to $285,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and work location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits, and commissions for some positions
