Executive Steward

BallenIsles Country Club is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Executive Steward to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a commitment to cleanliness and sanitation, and the ability to manage stewarding operations in a high-volume, luxury private club environment. This role is highly focused on maintaining exceptional kitchen standards, supporting culinary operations, and ensuring a safe, organized, and efficient back-of-house operation for our members and their guests.

Pay: $75,000 - $85,000 DOE

Essential Duties:
• Ensures that china, silver, glassware, pots, pans and utensils are cleaned properly and in a timely manner.
• Ensures daily cleaning is performed to include: dry storage, walk-in shelving, steam tables, hoods and exhaust system.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of back loading docks.
• Plan, oversee, and execute weekly deep cleaning of all kitchen areas.
• Monitor and manage steward labor costs to align with budget targets.
• Ensure stewards adhere to work schedules, including proper break punch-ins and punch-outs.
• Conducts quarterly inventories of china, silver, glassware, small ware, pots, pans and utensils. Prepares requisitions as needed.
• Prepares requisitions for china, silver, glassware, and small wares for banquet events.
• Ensures kitchen meets established sanitation standards.
• Purchases all kitchen cleaning supplies.
• Maintains sanitation standards in assigned areas.
• Ensures kitchen equipment is kept in good condition and that needed repairs a made in a timely manner.
• Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Manages department members that may include but is not limited to: Stewards.
• Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.
• Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, walks, uses hands, reaches with hands and arms. Regularly talks or hears. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, crawls, tastes or smells. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and regularly lifts up to 50 pounds.

Environment/Noise:
Frequently works in extreme heat (non-weather), in areas with moving mechanical parts and with toxic or caustic chemicals. Occasionally works in extreme cold (non-weather). Noise level is moderate.
