The Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education (CSHPE) seeks a staff member to fill the role of executive secretary. Part of the Marsal Family School of Education (Marsal), CSHPE has a long history as a distinguished academic program in the field of higher education. Our main goal for graduate training is to prepare individuals for leadership in shaping the future of higher education through generating and applying knowledge, advancing the role of higher education in supporting the public good, and improving institutional practice. Graduates assume a wide variety of roles and work on key activities such as admissions, advising, administration and policy analysis. In this role, you will fill a crucial role in support of the program's leadership. You will report to the Managing Director of CSHPE.

Responsibilities*Support for the program director (50%)Manage the director's calendar, meetings, communications, and projects.Coordinate committee work (especially graduate admissions), faculty searches, retreats, and events.Student support (20%)Assist students with administrative needs, records, resources, and events.Support student groups and process reimbursements.Faculty administration (10%)Assist faculty with administrative tasks, purchases, travel and expense processing.Office administration (20%)Serve as the main office contact.Manage office operations, supplies, events, social media, and communications.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Additional Information

Salary range: $60,000-$70,000

This position is fully in person at the School of Education Building, 610 E. University, Ann Arbor, MI. The work schedule is 8am-5pm Monday-Friday.

Background Screening
