Executive Programs (ExP)
The Executive Partner (EP) role at Gartner is a prestigious and strategic position that demands a unique blend of skills and experiences. This role is designed for individuals with advanced critical thinking, structured problem-solving abilities, and a high tolerance for managing ambiguous situations and complex account scenarios. The ideal candidate will excel in relationship building and collaboration, demonstrating superior verbal, written, facilitation, and presentation skills, often referred to as Executive Presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Creating Clarity:
Serve as both a lens and a mirror for organizations, reframing perceptions and exposing hidden truths.
Excel in problem framing, distilling complexity into precise questions that guide effective solutions.
Act as strategic orchestrators, integrating resources and crafting coherent plans to transform confusion into focused direction.
Ensure that clarity leads to actionable outcomes, avoiding mere theoretical discussions.
Driving Change:
Act as trusted challengers, pushing thinking beyond comfort zones and confronting organizational inertia.
Serve as execution architects, bridging the gap between insight and execution, ensuring strategies translate into concrete actions.
Empower clients by transferring knowledge and fostering self-reliance, reducing dependency on external advice.
Drive meaningful change by transforming insights into actionable strategies that align with organizational goals.
Navigating the Human Dimension:
Build trust and sustain momentum by connecting stakeholders and facilitating cross-functional understanding.
Adapt best practices to local realities, ensuring solutions fit unique organizational contexts.
Maintain a commitment to truth and ethical conduct, providing a foundation of trust.
Act as context translators, ensuring that solutions are culturally and structurally appropriate.
Member Engagement:
Manage a portfolio of member relationships within prominent global enterprise and public sector organizations, including the Federal Government.
Conduct on-site briefings, workshops, research analyst visits, roundtables, and webinars.
Present or facilitate at local ExP events, building strong partnerships with Gartner’s sales and other business units to ensure member engagement and renewal of ExP business.
Role Requirements:
Our most successful Executive Partners can adopt best practices, follow established processes, and embrace feedback with a mindset of continuous improvement. Gartner Executive Partners have a natural curiosity and share their knowledge and expertise with Executive Programs members. They understand the members’ mission critical priorities and build trust by delivering value and leveraging key internal partnerships to drive results.
Consulting and/or CxO roles with 15+ years of progressive technology exposure (AI, BI, ML, Digital Transformation, Block Chain, Big Data, CLOUD, etc.)
Demonstrate exposure to and ownership of large Strategic Programs and oversight of the Strategic IT direction of their organization.
Extensive knowledge of a CIO’s focus areas and an in-depth understanding of the IT industry (including enterprise digital transformation, business strategy, Leadership, IT Operations Management, technology strategy and trends, use of metrics, etc.) and priorities such as the challenges of “today’s” Technology Executive and how Gartner ExP can make the difference as an advisory organization
Advanced critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills

Superior verbal, written, facilitation and presentation skills (Executive Presence)
Demonstrable sales and/or business development experience with CXO level executives
