Role Purpose/Business Unit:

 

Build and maintain trusted relationships with leading institutional investors and sell-side analysts, while enhancing the equity story of Vodacom GroupCo-ordinate investor relations for Vodacom and its listed businesses Influence Vodacom’s strategy through insights into competitor actions and industry developmentsStrategic thought leader, who both engages, influences and challenges institutional investors on their thinking about Vodacom specifically, and on the telco/ converged sector at largeYour responsibilities will include:

 

Planning, organising and co-ordinating all relevant activities to ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of financial results of Vodacom Group Limited and its subsidiaries (the Group). This includes:
managing stakeholders and direct reporting line to achieve this outcome.preparing and overseeing the preparation of the quarterly, interim and annual results.preparing the CFO call script, CEO call script and conference call scriptspreparing Q&A documents for the CEO and CFO in preparation of quarterly, interim and annual resultspreparing Board and EXCO reports to be presented at Board and management meetingssupporting parent company reportingChallenge the business to drive sustainable value creation through informed and insightful decision making by analysing actual results and communicating investor/analyst feedback.An ability to challenge the investment case and enhance our equity story (including VTZ and Safaricom)Support the M&A team on key projects within the group and structure communication to shareholders and investors.Manage consensus and expectationsSupport the Integrated reporting suite to maintain a class leading outputCommunication with Group executive on key priorities, including to Safaricom and VTZThe ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

10 years’ working experienceAt least 5 years in an investor relations or financial markets experience (e.g. equity analyst/investor)CA (SA) or MBA, or equivalent qualification that evidences a technical competence in financial reporting Telecoms industry experience, ideally in AfricaInvestment banking and/or investing experience


Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

Leadership – Ability to lead a small team, setting annual goals, managing quarterly delivery and advancing the skillset of the team. Stakeholder Management – strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.Financial market knowledge – Good knowledge of financial markets, and relationships with stakeholders in financial markets. Analytical – Ability to understand business challenges and flag insights as they arise. Communication – Outstanding writing and presentation skills
