Responsibilities
A strategic visual storyteller responsible for shaping and actively creating Mayo Clinic’s most important ideas are presented across executive forums, enterprise initiatives, national thought leadership events, and high-visibility engagements. This role partners directly with senior leadership to transform complex healthcare strategy, research, and innovation into compelling presentation experiences that Influence perception, inspire trust, and reinforce Mayo Clinic’s global reputation. This is executive-level narrative architecture and visual strategy. both a strategic creative partner and a hands-on visual architect. This individual translates executive vision and complex healthcare narratives into compelling, emotionally resonant visual systems across presentations, motion graphics, digital platforms, and experiential moments. The role requires agency-level thinking, executive presence, and advanced technical craft including motion design, 3D animation, and emerging AI tools.
This is not simply a production design role, it is a high-impact creative leadership position shaping the future of executive storytelling at Mayo Clinic.
Core Responsibilities:
Strategic Story Development
• Partner with executive leaders to define narrative architecture and message hierarchy.
• Translate complex clinical and research concepts into structured visual stories.
• Develop cohesive presentation frameworks guiding audiences from insight to action.
Presentation Experience Design
• Design high-impact visual environments for executive and digital presentations.
• Create dynamic storytelling systems extending beyond slides.
• Develop custom infographics and motion-enhanced visuals.
Advanced Motion & Emerging Technology
• Produce high-level animations that make complex healthcare topics emotionally resonant.
• Leverage Unreal Engine, MetaHuman, and real-time rendering tools.
• Utilize AI tools (Firefly, Midjourney, GOOGLE Gemini) for concept and workflow acceleration.
• Develop optimized prompts and scalable creative systems.
• Ensure ethical and legal standards for AI-generated content.
Brand Stewardship & Visual Systems
• Ensure consistency with Mayo Clinic brand guidelines.
• Develop custom illustration, iconography, and infographics.
• Maintain excellence across print and digital production standards.

Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, or a related field plus 4 years of experience in graphic design, branding, or visual communication. Technical expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, Sketch, or other relevant design tools. Strong creative thinking and visual problem-solving skills. Needs to have attention to detail with a meticulous approach to typography, color, layout, and content elements. Ability to present ideas effectively and incorporate feedback from stakeholders and have great communication skills. The candidate will need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust designs based on evolving business needs. Need to also have basic knowledge of motion graphics, animation, or video editing (After Effects, Premiere Pro). Experience with UI/UX design and prototyping tools. Familiarity with print production processes. Photography or illustration skills.

Advanced motion graphics capability, including the creation of executive-level PowerPoint presentations, sophisticated 3D animations, and animated explainer videos that translate concepts into compelling visual stories, making complex ideas emotionally resonant. Proven ability to ideate, pitch, and execute creative vision while building presentations and visual narratives that support strategic initiatives. A self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong ownership of work, the ideal candidate brings a growth mindset suited to an evolving role that will help scale a developing design function shaping the future of executive storytelling at Mayo Clinic.
