This fund is a collaborative initiative between Tennessee Oncology and Ascension Saint Thomas to support patients undergoing cancer treatment who face financial, logistical, and systemic barriers that can delay or interrupt care. The Executive Director will oversee all philanthropic strategies, fundraising activities, donor engagement, and program operations that enable the fund to provide direct financial assistance to patients identified by Tennessee Oncology Financial Advocates and oncology nurse navigators across Ascension Saint Thomas Cancer Center sites. Your recruiter will provide the most up-to-date details during the hiring process._ **Responsibilities** **Strategic Leadership & Program Oversight** + Provide leadership and vision for the TO | AST Cancer Fund, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community needs. + Direct the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and strategic plans that guide the fund’s philanthropic operations and distribution of patient assistance. + Oversee collaboration with Tennessee Oncology and Ascension Saint Thomas partners to ensure seamless identification of patients in need through financial advocates and oncology nurse navigators. **Fundraising & Donor Engagement** + Collaborate with executive leadership to establish and monitor annual and long-term fundraising goals. + Develop, manage, and execute comprehensive fundraising initiatives, including major gifts, capital campaigns, planned giving, and other philanthropic priorities. + Implement marketing and engagement strategies that foster a culture of giving and increase the number of major donors, planned gifts, and estate commitments. + Cultivate and steward meaningful relationships with donors, community partners, and key stakeholders. **Communications & Marketing** + Prepare and oversee the design, writing, and production of philanthropic communications, including brochures, newsletters, donor updates, stewardship materials, and annual reports. + Ensure messaging reflects the mission, impact, and strategic direction of the TO | AST Cancer Fund. **Operational & Financial Management** + Develop and manage budgets, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines and stewardship of allocated funding. + Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits related to fundraising operations and fund administration. + Monitor program effectiveness and create reporting structures that demonstrate the fund’s impact on patients and the community. **Requirements** Education: + High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management. **Additional Preferences** No additional preferences. **Why Join Our Team** Ascension is a leading nonprofit Catholic health system with a culture and associate experience grounded in service, growth, care and connection.
