The Executive Director, US New Product Commercialization is responsible for ensuring the Bayer pipeline is optimized for US commercial success. This includes shaping strategic choices across disease areas and within disease areas; optimizing pipeline development for individual assets; and proposing/evaluating business development and licensing (BD&L) deals as additional opportunities to strengthen the Bayer pipeline and portfolio. Shaping these outcomes requires research and analysis on market and competitive landscape evolution; modeling of target profiles and financial outlooks; pressure testing and alignment with key US, global, and external experts; and successfully building understanding and alignment with relevant Bayer decision making bodies.
This is a Whippany, NJ based position. Relocation will be offered for the selected Candidate, if needed.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Executive Director, US New Product Commercialization, are to:
Shape the overall Bayer pipeline/portfolio/BD&L strategic focus: Integrate with relevant global commercial and development teams, including disease area strategy teams, and platform companies to ensure strategic choices within and across disease areas include well-informed consideration of US implications;Provide aligned US commercial input into pipeline development plans and key decision points for individual assets to ensure the organization considers US commercial implications as a key driver for the strategic and tactical choices made; appropriately shape the planning and execution of clinical studies to ensure they will address strategic, market access, and regulatory requirements;Evaluate BD&L deals as additional opportunities to strengthen the Bayer pipeline and portfolio, partnering with the BD&L team to proactively scan the market for opportunities that address strategic needs of greatest interest to the US;Dynamically organize cross-functional expert teams to create a well-informed US position in a way that efficiently leverages Bayer global, US, and external expertise;Conduct research and analysis on relevant market and competitive landscape evolution, model target product profiles, consider market access and other relevant dynamics, and assess commercialization costs to generate a well-informed US commercial view on the US financial corridor outlook to inform decision-making;Optimally leverage and provide input and thought partnership into Global team assessments, using co-creation to efficiently advance toward early shared clarity and alignment;Communicate the US perspective, risks/uncertainties, and key considerations/contingencies in a clear and compelling way to executive management and Bayer decision making bodies to promote common understanding of a shared fact base as the basis for well-informed decisions grounded in clear financials and assumptions;Create a smooth handover of assets to US Product Teams as they reach an appropriate stage of development, including clear summary of the insights, market evaluation, and strategic/executional assumptions driving the evaluation and preparation to date;Remains patient-focused, operating in full compliance with US legal, medical, and regulatory requirements; create a culture/environment in which business decisions evaluate benefits and risks, weighing key cross-functional perspectives.

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree;Experience in the pharmaceutical industry;Strong working knowledge of the US healthcare environment;Leadership with ability to create strategic vision and inspire/mobilize teams;Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities and able to simplify complex challenges;Compelling verbal and written communications;Financial acumen with demonstrated ability to develop financial forecasts and P&L;Taking well-informed/appropriate benefit/risk decisions;Efficiency/ownership mindset in managing and deploying enterprise resources;Fostering cross-functional collaboration and genuine co-creation;Cross-therapeutic area agility;Willingness for domestic and international travel (30% to 40%); High level of interpersonal skills and intercultural skills;High degree of flexibility and commitment.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or advanced degree preferred;Minimum of 10 years’ industry experience is preferred;New/pipeline product experience preferred;New product commercialization, and market access preferred.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $203,104 to $304,656. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
