**What You’ll Be Doing**
The Capital Markets arm of CIBC serves corporate, government, and institutional clients with innovative solutions and value-added services. From actionable ideas to highly tailored financing solutions, M&A advice, and a strong lineup of capital markets and treasury services, CIBC Capital Markets teams can provide the capabilities that clients need to help capitalize on opportunities and manage risk.
As a Executive Director in Business Management, Capital Markets for the CAO team, you will provide strategic leadership and support for the Payments business. You will play a critical role in supporting strategic business execution and helping to drive projects and business initiatives forward. You will engage key stakeholders and partners, identify and provide recommendations to address operational and regulatory gaps and/or opportunities, and build business cases and presentations for CIBC management teams. You will also support ad-hoc requests and tactical projects as required.

**How You’ll Succeed**
+ **Strategy and Business Execution Support:** You will support and contribute to strategic business planning, reports and presentation material, working with the Head of Payments, Capital Markets and the leadership team.
+ **People Management:** You will provide leadership and management to 2-3 team members, to influence employee commitment to the organization, to the team, and to their job. You will support performance management by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback and create a positive work environment, including, role modeling and championing CIBC’s mission, vision and values. You will ensure compliance with applicable policies, standards, guidelines and controls.
+ **Change Management:** You will proactively manage Change Initiative Risk Assessments (CIRAs) for new initiatives, collaborating with internal stakeholders from inception to business execution. You will support the execution of contracts and agreements with vendors and partners, ensuring all supporting processes are completed.
+ **Governance and Controls:** You will oversee governance and compliance activities for Payments, acting as a strategic partner to the business. You will manage and oversee audits and related follow-up items, coordinating and responding to the auditor and regulator requests, findings, and reports. Working closely with Capital Markets Governance & Control teams, you will ensure effective controls are in place and support the coordination of the deficiency management process across the Payments business. You will identify and implement improvements to internal procedures and practices, ensuring effective and documented internal controls are established and evidenced by policies and procedures tailored to individual business activities.
+ **Project and Meeting Management:** You will proactively plan and manage project deliverables to ensure successful execution within established timelines. You will identify potential risks or issues that could impact a project or initiative, and collaborate on effective solutions. You coordinate project steering committees and senior management meetings, providing regular status updates to key stakeholders and sharing action items with the management team, fostering strong meeting governance and communication.
+ **Relationship Management:** You build and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders across Capital Markets. By working collaboratively as one team, you help drive the successful delivery of projects and achieve shared business objectives. You establish effective partnerships with colleagues in the business, your peers, and a diverse range of partners—including Finance, Operations, Risk Management, Technology, and more.
+ **Problem Solving:** Using your knowledge of Capital Markets and the Payments businesses and operating model, you will solve complex problems affecting the business. You will bring forward new ideas with strategic thinking, be proactive in seeking ways to enhance workflow and processes, and maintain effective contacts and teamwork within Capital Markets and the relevant functional areas and partners.
**Who You Are**
+ **You have a degree** in business, finance or related field.
+ **You can demonstrate experience** in management consulting or strategy with 5 -7+ years of relevant experience. You have at least a strong understanding of Capital Markets and the Payments business, including, Global Transaction Banking and FX product knowledge, and market trends.
+ **You have people management experience** with 3+ years of leading teams **.**
+ **You have strong communication skills.** Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work alongside the business, including senior management, on a day-to-day basis.
+ **You’re a team leader.** You thrive when you're empowered to take the lead, go above and beyond, and deliver results. You have the ability to bring people together and maintain these relationships.
+ **You have strong multitasking and time-management skills** and the ability to manage deadlines while balancing multiple complex priorities.
