Job Description
The Executive Director reports directly to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and will manage the Office of Early College and Academic Partnerships, with direct administrative responsibilities over the dual credit and Early College High School (ECHS) partnerships and the Greater Texas Foundation (GTF) Scholars Program at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. The Executive Director serves a pivotal role in directing and advancing the commitment of the university to enhance college access. This position is central to fostering partnerships with local high schools, ensuring program compliance, and enhancing student success.
Responsibilities:
+ Strategic Vision and Leadership: The Executive Director is responsible for advocating for the Office of Early College and Academic Partnerships and working with campus leaders to align the vision and goals of the office with the university strategic initiatives.
+ Team Supervision: Lead and support a team comprised of partnership liaisons, coordinators, and student workers to deliver effective services.
+ Budget: Manage the fiscal resources of the Office of Early College and Academic Partnerships and advocate for additional needs in consultation with the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Utilize data to analyze trends, identify growth opportunities, and enhance retention efforts within the program.
+ Grant Management: Provide support for the existing Greater Texas Foundation Scholars Program, including reporting, representing the university, and budget management.
+ Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all dual credit offerings meet the standards set by the programs at Texas A&M University-San Antonio, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), and other accrediting bodies.
+ Stakeholder Communication: Represent the university and serve as the primary liaison between the university and external partners, ensuring transparent and effective communication regarding program developments and expectations
+ Automation and Data Workflow Management: Design and implement automated systems and workflows to streamline processes such as enrollment tracking, partner communication, and student progress monitoring.
+ Partnership Development: Facilitate the onboarding of new dual enrollment partnerships, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective program integration.
+ Academic Probation Support: Coordinate with internal departments across the university to discuss dual credit/ECHS processes, share updates, and ensure that departmental procedures support the unique needs of early college high school and dual credit students.
+ Course Scheduling Coordination: Collaborate with high schools and faculty to plan student course schedules, ensuring accuracy in course registration and alignment with academic requirements.
+ Curriculum Guidance: Assist high schools in understanding curriculum requirements, degree plans, and academic pathways for students enrolled in the dual credit or ECHS programs and ensure that course agreements are in place.
+ Degree Planning: Support the university in identifying partnerships and working with potential partners to establish flexible pathways to achieve student success and growth.
+ Outreach and Presentation: Develop and present information to high school partners, prospective students, and families about dual credit opportunities at Texas A&M-San Antonio. Planning and executing recruitment and engagement events to increase program participation.
+ Space Management: Coordinate the reservation of classrooms and meeting spaces for external partners visiting campus, ensuring resources are aligned with program needs.
+ Title IX Guidance: Assist students and partners in understanding and navigating Title IX processes, offering guidance and connecting them with appropriate resources.
+ University Course Projection: Assist in projecting the university's course schedule by assessing student enrollment needs and aligning offerings with academic objectives.
+ Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned to support the success of the Office of Early College and Academic Partnerships
Required Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field.
+ Ten (10) years of related experience in management.
Preferred Education and Experience:
+ Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in education, program coordination, or a leadership role, preferably with experience supporting dual credit, early college, or student success initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Evidence of strong budgeting and financial management skills, including experience with grant management and fund development.
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
+ Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners.
+ Proficiency in using and entering data to support program outcomes.
+ Knowledge of Title IX processes and student support services.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team to support student success.
+ Generally supervises.
