**BUSINESS UNIT DESCRIPTION**
CIBC Capital Markets aims to be the premier client-focused wholesale bank based in Canada. To achieve this goal, our wholesale banking division offers a comprehensive range of credit, capital markets, investment banking, merchant banking, and research products and services to government, institutional, corporate, and retail clients in Canada and key global markets around the world.
**JOB PURPOSE**
To lead cross asset Derivatives and Structured Notes sales coverage from Luxembourg to institutional clients (Private banks, Family offices, asset managers, insurance companies….) throughout Europe with focus on the Nordic and Benelux markets. The focus will be on the distribution of derivatives, Structured Notes and financing solutions across FX, Equities, Funds, Rates, Commodities and Commodity indices. It may also include leveraging existing relationships to promote new products initiative in the region. The key focus will be to build CIBC foot print in that space in Europe by having senior relationships across the continent.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
·To develop new relationships and increase the product mix sold to existing accounts in a team environment.
·To retain and enhance any established relationships the candidate may already have.
·The prospecting of new business opportunities.
·The ability to cover senior client relationships and develop new accounts.
·A solid understanding market and products, cross asset experience a must.
·To boost sales volumes and establish revenues from core franchise products within the Nordic and Benelux regions.
**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**
+ Knowledge of business/economics typically acquired through a university degree and/or a combination of education and industry experience.
+ Knowledge of Financial Market derivatives acquired through a minimum of 20 years’ experience
+ Knowledge of current financial markets, and an understanding of current market transactions
+ Able to very quickly acquire knowledge, to demonstrate competence and to add value to the transaction and client relationships
+ Confident, assertive, and able to function in a fast-paced environment
+ Ability to multi-task and adapt to a fluid environment while maintaining focus
+ Strong inter-personal skills, selling skills, and team player skills
+ Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
+ Ability to work and resolve problems independently
+ Computer literacy – Excel, Word, Bloomberg, Reuters etc.
+ At least one European foreign language.
