Job Purpose:
To spearhead the business growth and development strategy of the Bank in Zambia in alignment with Group objectives. The Executive Director will drive revenue generation, oversee digital transformation, enhance customer experience, and ensure sustainable business performance. This role includes expanding market share, ensuring robust credit portfolio quality, and delivering value across stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead business development strategy for sustainable growth across Retail, SME, Corporate, and Institutional segments. Champion digital transformation initiatives for business processes and customer engagement. Oversee the design, rollout, and success of new products and services. Manage the Bank’s branding, marketing, and corporate communications. Lead performance tracking and achievement of KPIs across financial, operational, and customer metrics. Ensure the Bank’s asset quality remains within defined risk appetite. Foster customer acquisition, retention, and product utilization (minimum 3 products per customer). Drive non-interest income growth, particularly in trade finance and digital banking. Oversee profitability and productivity across channels and business units.Key Performance Dimensions:
Financial Targets:
Achieve Bank’s ROE objectives. Grow the loan book at 1.5x GDP growth. Increase deposits at 1.25x the loan growth rate while reducing cost of funds. Improve non-interest income and maintain high asset quality.Customer Objectives:
Expand client base in line with strategic targets. Achieve product penetration ratio of at least 3 per customer. Ensure top-tier customer experience across all touchpoints.Operational Efficiency:
Achieve strong audit and regulatory ratings. Ensure smooth rollout and success of digital transformation and innovation initiatives.People Leadership:
Build and maintain a high-performing team with strong succession planning. Improve staff productivity and manage turnover within acceptable levels. Identify, mentor, and recruit top-tier talent in Business Development.Key Relationships (Direct Reports):

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; Master’s degree preferred. Professional qualifications in Finance, Marketing, ICT, Law, or HR are a plus. Minimum 10 years of senior management experience in banking. Proven experience across Retail, SME, Corporate, Institutional Banking, Trade Finance, and Digital Channels. Strong background in capital adequacy management, budget oversight, and product development.
