Sodexo is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Chef 2 to lead culinary operations at Clara Maass Medical Center, a 450-bed acute care hospital located in Belleville, NJ. This is a highly visible leadership role within a fast-paced healthcare environment, ideal for a culinary professional passionate about patient care, retail excellence, and high-end catering.

This strategic alliance enables us to deliver creative solutions to our clients along with our local partners throughout the communities we serve. For almost 20 years, we have provided top-level food, facilities management and integrated services to corporations, healthcare facilities, K-12 schools, colleges, universities and aviation lounges.

What You'll Do

Lead and manage a team of 20 union client staff across patient dining, retail, and catering services

Oversee all food production processes, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance

Collaborate with the Operations Manager to drive culinary innovation and operational efficiency

Support special events and catering functions, occasionally requiring evening or weekend availability

Maintain a strong presence in the kitchen and on the floor to ensure service excellence

What You Bring

Proven culinary management experience in a healthcare or hospital setting

Strong background in high-volume food production and upscale catering

Knowledge of current culinary trends and ability to execute creative menus

Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills

Flexibility to support early morning meal service (as early as 5 AM) and occasional evening events (until 6–7 PM)

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
