We’re looking for a versatile and experienced executive assistant to join our Starbucks Global Communications & Corporate Affairs team based in Seattle. This role will provide executive level administrative support to our svp, Global Communications and vp, Starbucks Stories. We are looking for candidates with a high level of integrity, problem solving capabilities, and proactive organizational skills who are comfortable with ambiguity and possess the capability to meet the demands of the team. This role will require being nimble to the leader’s schedule that is often moving to accommodate unplanned and quick turn deadlines given the nature of the department’s work.  This role will be an integral part of the fast-paced leadership team and act as a mentor and coach to the department admin team. Also, one who models inclusive leadership behaviors that are grounded in Starbucks Mission & Values.

As an executive assistant, you will…

Support the svp, global communications by demonstrating a high level of confidence in acting as a trusted point of contact who engages on behalf of the executive and organization with courage, empathy, humility, and as well as interpersonal savvy and efficiency.

Proactively implement time management expertise to ensure the leader is focused on driving business deliverables and strategic initiatives in collaboration with other leaders and support partners. Understand rhythm of the business to anticipate executive’s needs and prioritize team deliverables and cascade of information to the admin team

Be ready to shift with the leader’s fluid schedule in a fast paced, deadline-driven news environment of the team;

Demonstrate composure and professionalism while remaining flexible in balancing multiple priorities and deadlines in a constantly changing environment.

Manage highly complex multi-leg, international and domestic travel arrangements as well as partner with internal and external stakeholders in crafting agendas that optimize schedules, prioritize safety and with focus on compliance with existing policies and procedures and security

Cultivate and model in-person, collaborative culture for the team – including proactively organizing coffee tastings, partner recognitions and celebrations, and moments of ‘surprise and delight’ for camaraderie building.

Organize and lead highly complex events (offsites, summits, organizational meetings) both in-person and virtual either leveraging audiovisual equipment, or setting up meeting facilities

Exhibit excellent organizational skills and a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information with superior attention to detail

Act as a problem solver with strong critical thinking and analytical skills in anticipating leader needs – forward thinking, proactive, reliable

Lead the day-to-day support of calendaring, travel, invoices, expenses, and other administrative functions

Collaborate with support partners supporting leadership within the team and across the broader enterprise

 Actively engage with the executive's direct report team to ensure alignment of priorities and open communication paths

Comfortable engaging with all levels of external and enterprise networks

We’d love to hear from people with:

Progressive administrative experience 7-9 yrs.

Providing support to executive level management or equivalent 7-9 yrs.

Fast-paced environment 7-9 yrs.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, expert PowerPoint skills and virtual tools.

 

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information

Broad knowledge and understanding of the business, including both function and company priorities

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.  For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

 

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
