**POSITION SUMMARY**

**CORE WORK ACTIVITIES**
The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position
**General Food and Beverage Services**
1. Follow appropriate procedures for serving alcohol, follow local Training and Guidance
2. Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
3. Set tables according to type of event and service standards, including types of linens, glassware, plate/chinaware, and silver/flatware, ensuring all supplies meet quality standards.
4. Perform other reasonable duties as requested.
**Banquet Room Set-up**
1. Prepare coffee breaks, carts, and stations with appropriate food and beverages as stated in Banquet Event Order.
2. Prepare tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, dessert table/carts and cordial carts with specified tools, wares and equipment according to company standards.
3. Set up, operate, and troubleshoot audio-visual (AV), projection, lighting, and conferencing equipment, devices, and systems, ensuring all equipment is operational prior to use.
4. All Event service expert will be required to completely familiarize themselves with the location of each function room and related areas and the various types of set up to include the following: school style, theatre style, conference style, U-Shape, Hollow square, hollow rectangle, banquet style, different types of buffets set up, coffee break.
5. Set up and handling tables, i.e. round, rectangle, buffet etc. Service, breakdown and vacuuming of all department functions area to include meetings rooms, breakfast, lunch, dinner, receptions, banquet hall, dance floor, exhibits, general cleaning of all area and outdoor catering.
6. To ensure that all equipment, fixture and furniture are handled with great care.
Banquet Room Bussing and Cleaning
1. Bus tables by removing and separating tableware, chinaware, glassware, and flatware.
2. Monitor tableware to ensure it is presentable to guests, including checking for cleanliness, cracks, and chips.
3. Break-down, remove, and secure AV equipment and related equipment, devices, and systems promptly following an event.
Banquets
1. Respond to and try to fulfill any special banquet event arrangements requested by guest.
2. Replenish buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation from opening to closing.
3. Follow up on special banquet event arrangements requested by guest to ensure compliance.
4. Assist and instruct guests/customers regarding proper usage and operation of AV equipment and Internet.
Closing
1. Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas.
2. Complete closing duties, including storing all reusable goods, breaking down goods, cleaning all equipment and areas, returning equipment to proper locations, locking refrigerators, restocking items, turning off lights, locking doors, and completing daily cleaning checklist.
Steps of Service
1. Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages.
2. Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of assigned tables and work areas including ensuring courses are cleared according to department standards and tables are properly crumbed when appropriate.

+ Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest's name when possible; thank guests with genuine appreciation and provide a fond farewell.
+ Address guests' service needs in a professional, positive, and timely manner.
+ Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests using brand or property specific process (enter brand specific programs) to resolve issues, delight, and build trust.
+ Assist other employees to ensure proper coverage and prompt guest service.
+ Anticipate guests' service needs, including asking questions of guests to better understand their needs and watching/listening to guest preferences and acting on them whenever possible.
+ Engage guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services, and area attractions/offerings.
+ Ensure place settings are appropriate and each guest has a napkin, clean silverware, and any other item that is part of the standard place setting.
