JOB SUMMARY
The Event Sales Manager is responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to increase revenue for events and functions within the hotel. This position involves building relationships with clients, partners, event planners, suppliers, etc. To identify new business opportunities, convert clients to hotel supporters, support Marriott Bonvoy membership, secure buy-out and meeting opportunities supporting various F&B outlets and the Courtyard. To foster good working relations internally to ensure successful event planning, organization, and implementation. The candidate should possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, along with a keen eye for detail and a strong ability to multi-task.
**CANDIDATE PROFILE**
**Education and Experience**
+ 2 years’ experience in Catering, Event and F&B Sales or related professional area.
OR
+ Diploma or Degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related
**CORE WORK ACTIVITIES**
**Understanding the Market & Maximizing Revenue**
+ Identifies both F&B and catering opportunities to achieve personal and property revenue goals.
+ Focuses on our F&B outlets and the Courtyard’s unique selling points with a good understanding of overall market, competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, pricing, economic trends, etc. to be able to position our products and services versus the competing establishments.
+ Plan, plot event demand periods, focus on lead generation for future months and conversion. Build pipeline of events from new leads, past clients, corporate clients, associations, event planners, PCOs/DMCs, referral business.
+ Gains understanding of the property’s primary target customer and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business, issues and concerns, to offer the best available options.
+ Closes the best opportunities for the property based on market conditions and property needs.
+ Qualify and reply leads within the same day or within 24 hours with follow thru and proposal.
+ Tap new business opportunities, new markets, new channels, establish new business relations to grow account/ client base.
+ To support and handle meetings and events for residential groups.
**Providing Exceptional Customer Service**
+ • Interacts effectively with sales, kitchen, vendors, competitors, local community, catering associations and other hotel departments in order to ensure guest satisfaction.
+ • Executes and supports the company’s Customer Service Standards and hotel’s Brand Standards.
+ • Executes exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their program/event.
+ • Serves the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building a relationship and loyalty to the company.
+ • Gains understanding of the hotel’s primary target customer and service expectations; serve the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solution both prior to, and during the program/event.
+ • Develops a close working relationship with operations to ensure execution of strategies at the hotel level.
