**Job Title:** Events and Engagements Lead **Location** : Cambridge, MA, Morristown, NJ, **About the Job** The Event Engagements Lead is responsible for providing tools, services, and business intelligence related to engagements, meetings, events, congresses and other activities involving Scientific External Experts (SEE) with the purpose of improving the performance of a Global Business Unit. This role reports to the Head - Global Events & Engagements. The role aims to provide a consistent approach to managing interactions with SEEs, as well as adding business value to their interactions with Sanofi. It requires the capacity to lead teams, assess risks, make decisions, and drive strategy, as well as resolve issues in an efficient and business-appropriate manner. Effective communication is a must, as this role is an ambassador for the company’s Take the Lead strategy and is accountable for operational activities within scope. This role requires a senior leader with a broad strategic view and business acumen, who can translate ideas into courses of action and will ensure policies and guidelines are followed. We chase the miracles of science every single day, pursuing progress to make a real impact on millions of patients around the world. **Main Responsibilities** + Manage and train a team of Event Engagements Managers and Specialists and hold them accountable in terms of performance, resources, and budget. Responsible for strategic planning and delegation of activities to both team member and preferred agencies. + Serve as the escalation and resolution contact for complex and sensitive issues that arise during interactions with SEEs. + Facilitate a culture of best practice sharing. Provide advice and guidance on complex issues. + Research and propose solutions for improving efficiency and simplifying processes. + Keep up to date with relevant regulations and share knowledge accordingly. + Set up project timelines and monitor progress. + Oversee resource planning for events, meetings, congresses and other activities that concern SEE engagements including both country-level and hub FTE support. + Formulate training & resources to onboard and upskill staff. + Interpret requirements and determine strategies to improve team performance across geographies and business units. + Make independent decisions regarding work processes and operational plans. + Ensure organizational compliance with all applicable regulations and policies. + Develop team members, evaluating performance and providing feedback. + Provide insightful views and solutions. Partner with business units and support staff involved in contributions, compliance, legal and finance areas. + Define project procedures, methods, and controls. Align activities with One Sanofi tools and find synergies. + Develop and maintain documentation, practice and reporting templates operating within Sanofi's systems of record. + Provide advice to business units regarding compliance matters for interactions with SEEs, including Fair Market Value calculations. **About You** **Requirements** + A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required. + 5-7 years of professional experience in the event planning/SEE contracting field, desirably in a highly regulated market or Global experience. (Preferred) + Significant business experience in Healthcare Industry/Life Sciences (Preferred). + Proven managerial skills, able to perform in a matrix organization. + Project management experience is a must. **Competencies** + Ability to drive projects to successful completion. + Strong interpersonal skills, customer service orientation. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Additional languages are an advantage. + Event and congress expertise.
