The Role:
Working closely with our Senior Event Sales Manager, you will be responsible for maximising total revenue potential across the event market segment which includes day conferences, social and short lead events. A strong focus will be placed on relationship building, daily sales calls with successful conversion, repeat business for existing clients and generating the acquisition of future business. You will ensure that a high level of client service is maintained throughout all aspects of the booking process, which fall within the hotel’s policies, procedures and brand standards.
Responsibilities Include:
To manage an agreed allocated portfolio of accounts, through reactive sales activities such as phone calls and face-to-face meetings/site visits
To qualify and quote new events, demonstrating confidence with upselling and converting catering revenue
To prepare personalised submissions for all enquiries and leads and adhering to our 24-hour turnaround policy
Manage the day-to-day administration of catering, social and weddings, including creating and sending proposals, contracts, and collecting deposit payments all within a set time frame – and following up accordingly
To participate in promotional and entertainment activities as required
To maintain Envision booking system, trace and then prospect both previous clients and potential clients to secure bookings for future events.
To achieve established targets and goals as set by the Director of Event Sales Planning
Our Ideal Candidate will possess:
Experience in a similar sales-based role in the Hotel or Events industry - preferred
Background in food beverage events and catering –desirable
Strong customer service focus and relationship building
Experience using Opera PMS and Envision is desired
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Pride in personal presentation and grooming
Goal driven and motivated to exceed targets
Passion for the Events industry and desire to develop a career within the Sales environment
Full Australian working rights and the availability to work full-time onsite Monday to Friday
