Position Summary

The Event Manager I plays a vital role in the Foundations of MultiCare, supporting major fundraising and community events to foster engagement and philanthropy. This position is responsible for volunteer recruitment, registration management, and day-of event operations for both special and community events, ensuring a seamless guest experience and exceptional customer service for donors, attendees, and MultiCare Health System (MHS) leadership.

As the organization continues to grow, the Event Manager I will assist Event Manager II roles in executing large-scale signature fundraising events and support the Event Manager III with community events. Additionally, they will plan and implement smaller-scale events, responding to emerging opportunities while ensuring departmental income and activity goals are achieved.

This role also cultivates strong relationships with internal leadership, Volunteer Services, and external stakeholders—including major donors, Foundation board members, event attendees, committee members, and corporate sponsors. By fostering collaboration and engagement, the Event Manager I contributes to successful event outcomes and helps surpass departmental objectives

Responsibilities

Support the Director of Special Events & Corporate Relations, Event Managers II with registration support and Event Manager III with community events throughout the year.Oversee guest registration for signature special events and select community events in auction software (MaxGiving), including sponsorship tracking, and night-of fundraising activities.Coordinate volunteers and assign foundation staff as needed to support events, fostering a collaborative and community-driven atmosphere.Assist in setting annual solicitation goals, including in-kind contributions, cash donations, and auction procurement.Serve as a liaison between EMIII and external event organizers, reviewing applications, assessing event feasibility, and providing guidance to ensure successful execution.Maintain ongoing engagement with donors and volunteers through stewardship activities, ensuring lasting relationships and continued support.Oversee administrative tasks such as email communication, voicemail follow-ups, data entry in donor databases, and general event coordination.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, marketing and communications, or a related discipline.Experience Alternative – Three (3) years of relevant work experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.Fundraising & Event Management – Minimum of three (3) years of experience in planning, production, and logistical management of fund development events.Technical Proficiency – Experience working with hardware and software in a networked environment, including Microsoft Office applications and fundraising software (Raiser’s Edge preferred).Licensing & Compliance – Valid Washington State Driver’s License with a safe driving record that meets MultiCare Health System (MHS) standards, verified through a motor vehicle report.Leadership & Supervisory Experience – Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $71,677.00 - $103,168.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
