The PositionEvent Manager
The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Event Manager to join the Roche RSS External Collaborations Enabling Team. In this role, you will lead the planning and execution of various Roche DIA events with Healthcare professionals (HCP) for collaborations such as speaker programs, conferences, symposiums, customer events, and global launch meetings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in planning, project management and organizing events with HCPs and demonstrate an understanding of how these activities integrate with omnichannel marketing strategies. The candidate will possess experience in leveraging event technology to create cohesive omnichannel experiences for our HCP customers and stakeholders.
These events may be in-person, virtual, or hybrid. You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operations of events, acting as the primary point of contact for the stakeholders from various Customer Areas from planning through to the delivery of an event. This role requires extensive coordination and management of both internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful event execution. You will build and maintain a trusted relationship with your partners and ensure a robust event plan, ensuring the delivery of ethical, high-quality and cost effective events that are in line with the event & business objectives. As a true leader, you will put together Event Squads and be responsible for managing, coaching and mentoring this team of experts. Event Planning & Execution (from planning to post-event activities)
Plan, organize, and execute congresses, trade shows, and customer events that align with company objectives. Coordinate logistical aspects, including venue selection, vendor management, budgeting, and on-site event management.
Negotiate contracts and sponsorship terms for the events with service providers and congress associations
Coordinate and lead internal and external partners such as booth-building companies and event agencies
Act as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders during events.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure all events comply with industry regulations and company standards. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to event planning and execution.
Insights: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of each event. Analyze data to evaluate event effectiveness and provide actionable insights to stakeholders on the performance of the event and actions for continuous improvement.
Planning of costs and resources
Ensures accurate budgeting of costs for event activities and track actuals.
Sources, briefs and manages event squads and where required; agencies to ensure the successful delivery of events
Liaise with the stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure key resources and capabilities are secured and involved to ensure a successful delivery of engagements
Stakeholder & Partner Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, thought leaders, and internal teams. Ensure their needs and expectations are met through meticulous planning and execution.
Omnichannel Marketing Experience
Collaborate with the marketing and digital marketing teams to ensure events are effectively integrated into the overall marketing strategy. Develop cohesive messaging and marketing materials that support event objectives and enhance the company’s brand presence.
Utilize technology to create seamless and engaging omnichannel experiences before, during, and after events. Oversee the implementation of digital tools such as event apps, virtual platforms, and marketing automation to enhance attendee engagement and drive measurable outcomes.
Who you are:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Hospitality, Event Management, Communications, or a related field.
5+ years of event management experience, preferably in the IVD or healthcare industry, with 3+ years of HCP or patient engagement work.
Expertise in integrating events with marketing strategies, leveraging technology for omnichannel experiences, and using event management software.
Advanced global healthcare compliance knowledge with exceptional project management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Strong communication, interpersonal, influencing, problem-solving, and conflict management skills to manage diverse stakeholders and handle pressure effectively.
Proven ability to perform effectively in a complex, matrixed, and global environment with a strong customer focus, along with flexibility to travel and manage events on-site.
Fluent English proficiency (verbal and written).
