This high-impact role requires an expert in healthcare transportation procurement with a deep understanding of European logistics. You'll be responsible for sourcing, optimizing, and managing transportation services for healthcare products across Europe, overseeing a small team, analyzing data, and ensuring operational excellence. This role reports to the Europe & LATAM Healthcare Procurement Manager and is critical for driving value, compliance, and efficiency in transportation. **What you’ll get:** + A competitive salaryof up to around 50k EUR per annum, flexible depending on experience + Long-term incentives + ⁠Industry-leading training: Opportunities for continuous learning and skill development through various training programs + Promotion from within policy: A strong commitment to internal career progression, offering first-class opportunities for advancement within the company **What you’ll do:** + Lead procurement strategy for healthcare transportation, negotiate optimal contracts, pricing, and SLAs, and conduct RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs. + Conduct in-depth analysis of transportation metrics (volumes, costs, frequencies) to optimise routes and reduce costs. + Ensure all transportation complies with GDP, GMP, and healthcare logistics standards (e.g., temperature-controlled shipments). + Implement strategies for continuous improvement, identify cost-saving opportunities, and report on KPIs like on-time delivery and cost-per-shipment. + Supervise one direct report, providing mentorship and guidance. + Build strong relationships with suppliers, conduct reviews, and resolve issues promptly. + Partner with internal stakeholders (logistics, compliance, finance) to align procurement strategies with business goals. + Provide regular reports on procurement performance, vendor performance, cost savings, and compliance. **What you’ll need:** + Relevant experience in procurement and logistics, with some focus on healthcare transportation preferred. Proven track record in negotiation and contract management. + Knowledge of healthcare logistics, pharmaceutical transportation, temperature-sensitive shipments, and compliance (GDP, GMP). + Exceptional ability to analyse transportation data and make data-driven decisions. + Proven ability to negotiate with transportation providers and manage contracts. + Fluency inEnglish and Italian is required. German, French, or Spanish is a plus. + Advanced knowledge of TMS, ERP systems (Oracle Cloud, Coupa), and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI). + Willingness to Travel: Occasional travel across Europe. + Deep understanding of cold chain logistics and compliance (preferred) + Highly organised, detail-oriented, and results-driven; strong problem-solving abilities in a regulated environment; ability to thrive in a collaborative, multinational, and cross-functional team (preferred). **Employee Type:** Permanent UPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
