Job DescriptionThis role will be as part of the EUR&I FP&A Team based in the region, reporting directly to the EUR&I FP&A Senior Manager/dotted line to the International Credit Manager. As a Regional Credit Manager at AECOM, you will play a pivotal role in managing the company’s credit and collections processes. To ensure the financial health of the organization the role requires a proactive, hands-on approach, including direct engagement with clients to resolve payment issues and maintain strong relationships.
The Credit Manager leads the OCF & Working Capital Function and is responsible for end-to-end consolidation, forecasting, reporting, and performance management of Operating Cash Flow (Cash, Billings and Disbursements) and Working Capital across the business (region/sector/country). Partner with finance and operational leaders to deliver results in alignment with EUR&I financial targets focused on collections processes and strategies along with improving cash and DSO.
Job Duties
Client Engagement & Collections Leadership
Engage key clients to resolve overdue payments, disputes, and strengthen relationships.Serve as the primary escalation point for complex credit and collection issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.Oversee the full lifecycle of unpaid invoices, working with Credit Controllers/ Cash Collectors and external legal partners where necessary.Negotiate payment terms, settlements, and repayment plans directly with clients (when required).Credit Control Strategy & Policy
Develop, implement, and enforce credit control policies aligned with AECOM’s operational needs and global standards.Assess and approve credit terms for new and existing clients, ensuring alignment with company risk appetite. Ensure adherence to the Global Credit & Collections Policy and compliance with internal/external regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX).Conduct regular credit risk reviews, perform credit analysis, and implement mitigation actions.Accounts Receivable, Aged Debt & Risk Management
Monitor AR performance across the region, proactively identifying risks to cash flow and OCF.Oversee the collection of outstanding invoices, ensuring timely payments to support cash generation. Review regional exposure to billed and unbilled AR and assess risk against OCF targets.Monitor unapplied/unidentified cash receipts and drive timely resolution.Process Improvement & Governance
Promote and lead continuous improvement across the end‑to‑end Order to Cash (O2C) and Source to Pay (S2P) processes.Establish best practices for credit, collections, cash performance, and S2P operational excellence across regions.Strengthen governance of working capital inputs across both O2C and S2P, maintaining standard templates, timelines, and data quality controls.Improve documentation of cash‑forecasting assumptions and reporting methodologies, ensuring alignment with both O2C and S2P upstream and downstream dependencies.Support offshoring initiatives and process transitions, ensuring quality, efficiency, and scalability.Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop the credit control team to achieve high performance and departmental objectives.Inspire and influence teams across regions, promoting accountability and collaboration.Drive a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, and customer focus.Provide guidance, support, and training to operational teams on collections and working capital excellence.OCF & Working Capital Management
Consolidate and validate monthly/quarterly OCF and Working Capital results, ensuring accuracy and consistency across businesses/countries.Lead the OCF & Working Capital forecasting cycles (weekly/monthly), including 13‑week cash outlooks and budget/strategic planning forecastsPrepare detailed reports on aged debt, collection performance, working capital KPIs, and cash flow forecasts for senior leadership.Consolidate and challenge forecast information from countries/regions, building narrative and performance messaging.Reconcile key drivers between: Cash Flow, ensuring alignment between FP&A and statutory views.Support audit and compliance requirements relating to cash flow and working capital.Partner closely with Operations, Finance, Working Capital Teams to resolve disputes and drive cash improvements.Lead weekly cash reporting calls with FP&A and Stakeholders to track OCF / DSO progress.Collaborate with the GBS Billing Manager to minimise unbilled WIP and ensure timely billing.Work with Controllership to ensure alignment on accounting treatment of working capital accounts.Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.· Professional certification preferred (e.g., CICM – Chartered Institute of Credit Management).· 10+ years of relevant work experience, ideally within engineering, construction, infrastructure, or professional services industries.· Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the end‑to‑end collections process, including dispute resolution and debt recovery through legal channels.· Experience using Oracle or similar ERP/financial systems.
