Job Description

Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital and/or video circuits, and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.

 

Interpret RA and customer documentation (drawings, specifications, workorders, schematics, and others)Ability to download software onto PLC(s) Verify wiring in physical cabinet compared to schematic requirements “power off point-to-point check.”Verify that all components installed are correct per customer requirements.Verify that all labeling is correctly located and applied per customer requirements.Verify that the general organization and presentation of the wiring and assembly is astatically pleasing.Verify that voltage on drawings match component ratings.Select and connect facility test power lead(s) to assembled cabinets.Execute high voltage power checks with high voltage powered up.Execute low voltage power checks with high voltage powered up.Perform all key responsibilities of an engineering technician level 3.Aid all other technicians as required based on workload and requested/assigned.Perform any in process quality checks as required.Assist in the training of lower-level Engineering technicians.Ability to interpret electrical schematics is a requirement.  Experience in engineered to order manufacturing is a requirement.  High level of troubleshooting capabilities when diagnosing complex electrical assemblies when not functioning as designed/specified.High School diploma or equivalent minimumRequires a comprehensive understanding of how to interpret customer and RA documentation and requirements and transform them into physical product as well as how to test finished product to verify that it is correct.  Must be able to visualize physical product based off said requirements.  From this visualization and documentation, they must be able to identify that the correct components, wiring, and labels were used.  To accomplish these tasks the person must have good dexterity, hand-eye coordination, have basic math skills, organization, and attention to detail.  Consistency and uniformity are critical to this role as there will be times when multiple of the same product will be produced and all need to be consistent to the customer.  The person must possess a high level of understanding in the function, risks, and theory of electricity.Demonstrate customer focus by understanding and incorporating customer and engineering requirements into work product.Strong sense of ownership in completing work, but willing to ask for help and questions and engage engineering, as needed.Interaction between upstream and downstream process team membersCollaborates effectively with team members and actively engages peers from a problem-solving perspective.This role must be meticulous, objective, self-driven, and able to give constructive feedback to team members.Expected to convey best practices to all team members working on customer product.Assist team lead as requested or in their absence.

 

 

Basic Qualification:

High School diploma or equivalent minimumMinimum of 6 years in RA electrical assembly or Associates /Bachelors degree in related field.Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of 6 years in RA electrical assembly OR Associates or Bachelors degree in related field.Minimum of 6 years in general electrical assembly.

This role needs to be customer focused and rely on what is defined by our customers and engineers first then their knowledge and experience. This role is expected to be a process expert in all areas of cabinet assembly and define what “correct” is when balancing customer and RA requirements, both explicate and implicate. This role needs to be confident to execute on their own and have confidence in their decisions, however, engage Engineering when necessary. This role is expected to convey best practices to all team members working on customer product. This role has to be meticulous, objective, self-driven, and able to give constructive feedback to team members. This role is expected to provide mentorship and training to developing team members so the ability to train and lead is a requirement.  The majority of the time this role executes as an individual, however interaction with upstream and downstream process team members is frequent.  In addition, this role will interact with others in the same type of role and are expected to engage others in the same role type for problem solving situations.This role will have a minimal level of supervision and a great level of autonomy.  Workload will be aligned to this role by either interacting with the assembly area, master schedule, or leader and will be expected to work unsupervised through the duration of said project for the duration of their work scope. May be expected to work overtime during the week and/or weekend.   This role is expected to contribute to and participate in strategic business initiatives that will be focused on improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost.   Perform complex  problem solving skills on product they are testing and verifying.  This role is expected to able to make decisions in regards to what is correct, and where there is ambiguity or this role is unclear as to what is correct, be able to contact the correct individuals and drive resolution.
