Experienced attorney and leader of global teams, with a proven track record in the life sciences industry. Skilled in Compliance, Food and Drug Law, Anti-Corruption/FCPA, US Fraud & Abuse, and Data Privacy and Cybersecurity. Experience in litigation, internal and government investigations, mergers & acquisitions, administrative law, government and legislative affairs and advocacy, and corporate matters. **Job Purpose and Scope:** To oversee and promote the development and effectiveness of the Compliance Program in the Abbott Japan affiliate. To develop, revise and implement the internal compliance policies and procedures. Develop compliance training materials and deliver the compliance training sessions to employees. Give advice on compliance related queries from the employees. Manage due diligence and other third parties’ management. Leading the internal privacy committee meetings. Join the internal transparency project and give advice. Engage in the global/regional compliance related projects as needed. **Core Job Responsibilities:** Internal Polices & Procedures To develop, revise and implement the internal compliance policies and procedures. Work with the APAC region and the HQ, if necessary. Training and Awareness Activities Develop compliance training materials and deliver the compliance training sessions to employees including both new hires and existing employees on the Abbott Business Code of Conducts, Privacy, Due Diligence, Anti-Bribery, and Anti-Corruption including the U.S. FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act), and local industry codes. Manage global e-learning program and ensure the completion of 100% by its deadline. Keep training records at the TAM system. Develop compliance awareness messages and implement them. Join a Global Compliance Week project as a representative of the local affiliate. Compliance Advice Consult proactively with business teams to provide guidance on proposed commercial programs, identify compliance issues, analyse alternatives, and propose solutions to the businesses. Third Parties Management Assist the management of third parties including support and advice regarding due diligence. Privacy Work with Global and APAC regional privacy counter partners to incorporate the Privacy Compliance Program to the Abbott Japan affiliate. Ensure ongoing Privacy Compliance Program including policies, trainings and giving advice to privacy stewards. Leading the privacy committee meetings. Transparency Join the internal transparency project and give advice. Travel Travel as required. Projects Perform various ad hoc projects or requests as needed. **Minimum Skills Required:** Identify the specific skills needed to perform this job effectively (leadership skills, selling skills, computer literacy) + Strong communication and organization skills and able to work both independently and also in cross functional groups. + Strong presentation skills and able to train and present to larger groups, including senior affiliate management. + Attentiveness to detail and a strong control and policy focus, while also being able to work well with the business to deliver on their needs through a customer service mentality. + Able to manage deadlines well and be responsive to requests and questions from the organization. + Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint required. + Japanese and English (TOEIC 800 above) language skills required. **Knowledge / Education Required:** Identify the knowledge, expertise, educational level required to perform this job successfully (product/industry knowledge, technical/business acumen, degree, professional certification etc) + University degree required. Law, or accounting degree desirable. + Legal, Compliance, Finance or Internal Audit background preferred. **Experience Required:** Describe the on-the-job experience level required to perform this job (management experience) + 3-5 years compliance experience preferred. Compliance experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and/or nutrition industries greatly preferred. + Work in a multinational corporation preferred.
