About this Role
The Estimator will work with Project and Division management to assist in the development of technical scope of work and independently develop cost estimates and resource requirements for overhead distribution, transmission, and substation electrical utility construction projects.
What You'll Do Assist with the request for proposal (RFP) preparation and evaluations, project specifications, and pricing schedulesAssist with the preparation of pre-approval project estimates based on limited information and general scopes of work, often lacking specific precedenceAssist project team in scoping of projects for engineering, construction, and contractual requirementsAssist with the development of detailed post-approval project estimates based on company standards and site-specific facility drawingsPerform material take-offs and cost analyses to support estimatesAssist with the development of pricing schedules and weighting criteria for proposal evaluationsProvide expert judgment of costs to support competitive bid and negotiated contractsAssume additional responsibilities as directed by division or project management What You'll Bring Knowledge of design, estimating, construction, finance, and managementAbility to read and understand blueprints, drawings, scaling, legends, etc.Ability to work independently and meet deadlinesAbility to anticipate and meet internal customer needsAbility to maintain confidentialityThorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and activities.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Proficient in industry software such as InEight, B2W or Heavy Bid.Effective communication (oral, written, presentation, listening)Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasksAbility to travel as neededMust have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required Education and Experience
Minimum of 5 Years’ Experience in Project Estimating, Construction Management, or similar construction fieldThorough knowledge of high voltage construction (Overhead, Underground, Transmission, Substation and Distribution) and estimating experience

What You'll GetPay- $ 125,000 - $ 175,000 /Annually *Depending on Experience
