Job Title: Estimator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator with a strong knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) trades. The ideal candidate will prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and estimates throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual budgeting to final bid submission. You will focus on MEP systems, construction methodologies, and unit costs and production rates for self-performed tasks, such as concrete, carpentry, and finishes. In addition, you will estimate construction healthcare remodels and request bids from contractors using estimating and project management software like Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, or Procore.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage progressive estimates at various design stages, including conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documents.Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP scopes.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather pricing and scope information.Perform quantity take-offs using estimating software and manual methods.Maintain organized records of estimates, assumptions, and pricing data.Evaluate subcontractor bids and ensure scope coverage and compliance.Participate in value engineering exercises and provide cost-saving recommendations.Assist in the development of bid strategies and presentations for internal and client review.Stay current with market trends, labor rates, and material costs in the MEP trades.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 3–5 years of estimating experience in MEP trades (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).Experience with progressive estimating in design-build or CMAR delivery methods.Familiarity with BIM and 3D modeling tools for estimating purposes.Strong knowledge of construction processes, systems, and terminology.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Procore.Experience with estimating software such as Bluebeam or similar.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Exceptional attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
