Job Description
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for reviewing construction documents such as blueprints and specifications, gathering information about bidders lists and schedules, and understanding the scope of work to bid. Your role involves preparing RFIs for additional information needed, tracking addenda and updates to ensure accurate estimates of reinforcing steel, welded wire mesh, and accessories. You will also prepare required bid forms/documents, ensure timely completion of estimates, and coordinate the final scope of work, contract, and fabrication schedule requirements with clients.
Responsibilities
Review construction documents, including blueprints and specifications.Gather information about bidders lists and schedules.Understand and define the scope of work to bid.Prepare RFIs for additional information and track addenda and updates.Ensure accurate estimation of reinforcing steel, welded wire mesh, and accessories.Prepare required bid forms/documents.Ensure timely completion of estimates.Coordinate the final scope of work, contract, and fabrication schedule requirements with clients.Communicate effectively with clients and troubleshoot field complications.Create placement drawings for rebar detailing when necessary.Essential Skills
1+ years of estimating experience preferred.Proficiency in estimation, bidding, blueprint reading, and using estimating software.Experience with fabricating rebar or performing rebar take-off is preferred.Good written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.Strong math skills, both manually and using software like MS Excel for data entry and formula editing.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to read blueprints and review plans quickly and efficiently.Sales experience related to project-specific or construction business.Experience with drafting and detailing, especially related to rebar.Work Environment
This position requires you to work from 7am to 4pm in an office setting with a business casual dress code.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westport, Massachusetts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
