Job Description
The HVAC Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning projects within the commercial segment. This role requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents.
ResponsibilitiesAnalyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed HVAC cost estimates.Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project requirements.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand scope and expectations.Source and evaluate vendor quotes, labor costs, and material pricing.Prepare bid proposals and present estimates to stakeholders.Track and update cost data and estimation tools.Assist in value engineering and cost-saving strategies.Maintain records of estimates and project outcomes for future reference.Essential SkillsExperience as an HVAC Estimator or in a similar role.Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and installation practices.Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.Degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or related field preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with local building codes and regulations.Experience with commercial and residential HVAC projects.Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design software.Work Environment
This is an office position with occasional visits to customer sites a few times a week. The company provides a gas card and a laptop for site visits. Working hours are from 7 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday, and the dress code is business casual.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $44.00/hr.
