What this opportunity involves:

The Fitout Estimator is responsible for providing accurate cost planning, estimating, and tender analysis services for commercial interior fitout projects. This role requires expertise in analyzing construction documents, quantity takeoffs, and market rates to develop comprehensive cost estimates that meet client expectations and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for interior fitout projects at various stages (concept, schematic, design development, and construction documentation)Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and other project documentation to determine scope of workPerform quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive bills of quantitiesCoordinate with project managers, designers, and contractors to ensure estimates align with project intentEvaluate subcontractor proposals and prepare tender analysis reportsIdentify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutionsDevelop project-specific budgets and monitor costs throughout the project lifecycleMaintain current knowledge of market rates, material costs, and labor rates in the commercial fitout sectorProvide input during client meetings regarding budget implications and cost control strategiesMentor junior estimators and contribute to the development of estimating procedures

Sounds like you? This is what we are looking for:

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field7+ years of experience in commercial interior fitout estimatingProficient in estimating take-off software & Microsoft Office suite (Bluebeam preferred but not limited to other software, e.g., CostX, Buildsoft, Planswift or similar platforms)Understanding the process of competitive open market tender processesUnderstanding of the construction value engineering and negotiation process.Familiar with Tender Bidding platform (eg. E1, Procore and etc)Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and fitout processesExperience with various procurement routes and contract formsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsSuperior communication and negotiation abilitiesDetail-oriented with strong mathematical aptitude
