About this Role

IFS InfraSource is looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team.  Responsibilities include timely and accurate development of bids and proposals for the management and construction of underground utility infrastructure (including underground electric transmission) construction in the Eastern region of the US.

What You'll Do This role requires 50–60% travel for customer meetings, site visits, job walks, and regional business development supportReview work requirements and scopes with local operations and project stakeholdersPerform detailed estimating for underground utility infrastructure projects, including constructability considerations and project-specific methodologiesResearch and define cost elements including labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and project risksIdentify risks, develop contingencies, and proactively propose constructability solutionsPrepare detailed written proposals including clarifications, exceptions, and assumptionsPresent draft estimates to upper management for review, risk assessment, and approvalSubmit final approved bids to customers within required timelinesMaintain well organized estimate documentation and back up filesMaintain strong communication with existing customers to support ongoing relationshipsCollaborate with the Business Development team on key pursuits and large customer engagementsObtain a thorough understanding of project scope, construction methods, timelines, and customer expectationsAttend pre bid or project scoping meetings, ask relevant project related questions, and accurately record customer responses and key discussion topicsConduct job site visits to evaluate site conditions, verify constructability, and gather information required for estimatingProvide necessary project documentation to field operations, project management, and administrative staffParticipate in contract pre planning meetingsAssist in preparing and submitting project or contract deliverables as required by customers and InfraSource internal processesSupport field personnel with developing and documenting change orders and negotiate resolutions with customers when disputes arise What You'll Bring Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required including military service. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field preferred.Expert in MS Office Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power PointExpert organizer (notes, files, documents, etc.)Proficient in Technical Writing/CorrespondenceProficient in reading prints and performing quantity and material takeoffsThe successful candidate will be a self-starter who works well independently, takes initiative, and has strong relationship building skills What You'll Get Paid on-the-job technical and professional training Competitive wages and industry-leading benefits including Retirement PlanCareer path for future growth
