Estimating Manager

We are looking for an Estimating Manager to join our Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME) UK team in Glasgow. You will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of our bids and projects here at Thales.

Key responsibilities:
The purpose of this role is to define the inputs necessary for project estimating, coordinate the activities and consolidate estimates.
• Outline the estimating approach and appropriate estimating techniques.
• Provide the estimate timelines.
• Document decisions for strategy, techniques and associated rationale as part of key Estimate
Information in the Internal Executive Summary for an offer or in the project management plan
or any other document for an on-going project.
About you:
We are seeking a proactive individual with a positive attitude and great interpersonal skills. Someone who has strong stakeholder management and can successfully manage and influence cross functional teams.
A financial/accounting background is essential for this role.
An understanding of the Bid Management process and lifecycle would be advantageous.
Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires you to be a UK National and achieve Security Clearance (SC) without any caveats. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment. If approved by the MOD, a dual national from a Non-ITAR country may be considered. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.
To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
