Location Description Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa is nestled high atop the majestic San Bernardino Mountains at an elevation of 5,174’. This Resort is surrounded by an ocean of Ponderosa Pines and gives guests exclusive access to Lake Arrowhead, a reservoir with a surface area of 780 acres. Lake Arrowhead is the perfect location for outdoor adventure enthusiasts and offers a variety of summertime and wintertime activities including hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, water skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, ziplining, and more. The resort includes a Bar & Restaurant, Spa & Wellness Center, Outdoor Pool & Lake Beach as well as over 23,000 sq. ft of meeting and events space. Overview BASIC FUNCTION: The Esthetician is the skin care expert who provides services to clients to improve the look and feel of their skin through skin evaluation and determines which treatments are best and administers the treatments. This position is also responsible for upselling products used in the spa. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides facial and body treatments for clientele in a consistent manner as directed by the Spa of the Pines protocols. Designs specific sessions based on client consultation to determine the best treatment to meet client needs. Refers clients to physicians and other healthcare professionals for more advanced treatments. Creates memorable guest/client experience through professional, friendly, and helpful attitude. Must maintain current clientele while continuing to build new clientele. Ensure outstanding service through upholding spa flow of greeting the guest, consultation, treatment and closing. Recommends products for home use and suggests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa. Begins and ends all treatments on time. Ensures work areas are clean and equipment is disinfected according to procedures. Assesses contraindications of guest that may prevent service from taking place. Works with guest to resolve issues and escalates when needed to supervisor or manager. Maintains current on all licensure and insurance. Create and maintain guest files according to procedures. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions as determined by the supervisor based upon the requirements of the hotel. Respond to and complete any reasonable task assigned by leadership. Attend necessary meetings, including department meetings. Any other duties as assigned. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE - The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year of experience as an Esthetician. Or a combination of certified education and experience. Must have and maintain a valid California Certified Esthetician License. Previous spa experience preferred. Must have excellent bedside manners. Must have good time management skills to ensure appointments begin and end on time. Must have physiology and anatomy knowledge. Must know, understand, promote, and follow proper health and safety standards including creating a safe and effective environment. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have superior procedural skills with the ability to endure constant physical effort and precision when providing treatment services. Must be able to connect with various types of personalities. Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance and uniform. Must be able to read, write, and speak English clearly to ascertain and document client information. Must be able to work various schedules, including days/nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs dictate. Must have reliable transportation to and from work; espcially during the winter months when snow is eminient. Compensation Range The compensation for this position is $16.50/Hr. - $16.50/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
