Job Responsibilities:

Perform ergonomic assessments on various jobs throughout the plantLead the Ergonomics Committee and initiatives.  Work with committee on education, direction and goalsPerform ergonomic and wellness training for all newly hired employeesContinue to support ergonomics and wellness awareness education in all areas of the plant with dynamic stretching, body awareness and injury preventionAnalyze new jobs and process changes for risk of ergonomic injuryFollow up on all ergo and work fitness related occupational injuriesAbility to work flexible scheduleCoordinates education programs designed to promote and encourage employee wellnessMaintains in-depth knowledge of ergonomic standardsProvides expertise and guidance on safety and health issues.Reviews and approves Safety Change review forms.Performs safety and health audits (ergonomics, conditions, safety equipment).Tracks and produces reports for all ergonomic activity (Divisional and Corporate).Upholds and promotes Nascote’s 14 Lean Principles through daily activities.Supports Nascote’s APQP system through diligent communication and coordination of program launch activities.Attends and reports to the Central Safety Committee.Maintains strict confidentiality in all employee related matters and information.Maintains an acceptable attendance record.Purchases or recommends the purchase of ergonomic related equipment or supplies.Writes articles to promote wellness and ergonomic programs.Required:  2 - 4 years of relevant experiencePreferred:  Ergonomic experience in a manufacturing environmentMust be able to work with limited directionMust have excellent problem solving skills.Possesses solid computer skills.Must work well with others, having excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.Must have good math skills.Must be able to interpret OSHA and other safety regulations and have knowledge of accident prevention techniques. B.S. degree in Ergonomics, Occupational Health and Safety, Sports Medicine or similar field of studyIn special circumstances, candidates who have not met the required education, but have substantial manufacturing work experience that is applicable to the job may be considered.Pay Range $62,000 - $72,000Awareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
