The role reports in Senior Strategic HRBP for ANZ, this role will continue to establish the Employee Relations Centre of Excellence for ANZ, working in conjunction with both the ANZ People Leadership Team, APAC CoE and ANZ Legal team. It will set and lead our ER strategy and build capability both within the People Team and our People Managers. Responsible for proposing solutions by evaluating and leveraging legal risks with business benefits and ensure local processes are executed effectively and with the highest level of integrity. This role will work across all sites in Australia – Forrestfield Perth, Regency Park, Adelaide, Tingalpa, Brisbane and Sydney Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Provide coaching and guidance to People Function and People Managers to manage ER/IR cases that are relevant to the business they support. Provide a consultancy and advisory service to management, payroll and employees on interpretation of relevant Acts, Regulations, Awards, industrial Agreements, legislation, policy and procedures relevant to HR and the provision of advice on contemporary HR practices. Partner with our EHS and Total Rewards team on our ongoing approach to managing Psychosocial Hazards in the workplace Through case themes and analysing the Code of Conduct tracker proactively provide training sessions to people leaders on recurring themes ER/IR capability building for People Function and People Managers through case updates, knowledge sharing, learning content, training sessions and daily coaching Own end to end delivery of processes or tools for COE-driven work, and measure effectiveness Lead general case management end to end for both professional and frontline teams Escalate more complex/high risk ER/IR matters to the ANZ Legal team, and then support as required Lead more complex Speak Up cases, outside of those that can be supported by the APAC ER CoE or local generalist teams Partner with our ANZ Legal team Prepare briefs, submissions and correspondence and partner with external legal partners as required Proactively evaluate potential employment law or policy compliance gaps based on a thorough understanding of the company’s obligations, and takes action to address those gaps, consulting legal experts as appropriate Support ANZ Control Environment Committee (CEC) to maintain a sustainable control environment Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures based on relevant legislation which ensures a fair process, pragmatic approach whilst always operating with integrity for ANZ Qualifications About you: Strong experience in IR and ER case management wih mininmun 5-7 years of relevant experience Can demonstrate a strong understanding and application of AU Employment legislation Ability to make decisions and lead complex IR/ER cases Ability to influence individuals and teams across the customer base. Ability to educate, inform and build capability of both People Team and People Managers Experienced in working with external parties including external counsel, Fair Work Commission and other relevant parties Provide sound judgement both on day-to-day and long-term issues that balances the needs of both the business and industrial requirements. Strong organisation and project management skills to deliver quality work within a fast paced environment. Solid experience in managing grievances, disciplinary and counselling situations.
