Department Information
The Adam State University Motor Pool within Facilities Services exist to provide safe, reliable, and well-maintained vehicles that support the transportation needs of the university.
THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION (9 MONTHS OR LESS) NOT ELIGIBLE FOR BENEFITS.
Description of Job
This temporary Equipment Mechanic supports the Motor Pool Department of Facilities Services by assisting their supervisor in completing maintenance, inspection, and detailing duties of all vehicles and equipment and the transport of State vehicles for travel or maintenance in support of providing a safe reliable transportation service for Adams State University.
Specific Duties Include:
+ Standard Equipment Maintenance
+ minor repairs, replace blades, flat tires, power washing
+ Standard Vehicle Maintenance
+ Maintain, Clean, Detail, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance
+ Facility/Shop Organization
+ Pre-trip inspections and logging on equipment and fleet vehicles

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Only:
One (1) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position
OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education, formalized apprenticeship program, and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to one (1) year
Required competencies:
+ Preventive maintenance knowledge to ensure safety and reliability of vehicles/equipment.
+ Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills under time-sensitive conditions.
+ Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
+ Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload independently or in a team.
Necessary Special Requirements
Possession of a current valid State of Colorado Driver's license is required for this position. The successful applicant must maintain the ability to independently travel in the performance of job-related duties. Please submit a copy of your Driver's License with your application.
NOTE: While this position has been determined to be FLSA non-exempt, it is a condition of employment at ASU that as a non-exempt employee, the successful applicant who accepts this position, will agree to compensation time in lieu of payment for any overtime hours worked.
