Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee, Florida is looking to fill the position of Head Equipment Manager.

Located on the campus of Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL, Seminole Legacy is one of the premier University golf courses in the country. The men’s and women’s golf teams are consistently ranked in the Top 10 nationally. Our daily goal at Seminole Legacy is to provide the best possible conditions so that both teams have all the necessary tools to be successful.

The golf course was originally designed by Bill Amick and opened to the public in 1962 and a full course renovation took place in 2018 and reopened in 2020.

The scope of the renovation included a complete redesign of the golf course, with only one hole remaining from the original routing. All tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, greens, and cart paths are new. Additionally, the old Don Veller course sat on 210 acres, which included two driving ranges, a small-short game area for the golf teams and a 7,147-yard par-73 golf course. The new golf course is 7,800 yards and a par 72, sitting on 174 acres, including the driving range, two driving ranges for the golf teams and a new 12-hole par three course for the golf teams.

Job duties for the Head Equipment Manager will include but not limited to:

Ability to be self-motivating and to work proactively to maintain/repair all equipment and minimize equipment downtime and loss of staff productivity. Maintain detailed records for equipment repairs, and preventative maintenance of all equipment. Proficient in diagnosing and repairing Tier 4 engines. Maintains an inventory of parts needed that have a history of being replaced frequently. Maintaining a clean work environment is necessary. Welding, engine repair, and ability to read hydraulic and wiring schematics. Must have a “whatever it takes mentality.” Performs any other duties to help maintain a high standard collegiate golf course property. This position will require OT occasionally and weekend work will be required. Must be willing to attend continuing education seminars. Must be efficient at grinding reels and bedknives.

This position will also have an influence on design and placement of a brand-new golf course maintenance facility.  We are in the planning stages, with work starting to begin in early fall.    

Expected Salary Range will be based on experience but will be comparable to a high-end private club wage, plus OT. All necessary health benefits along with retirement options are also available.
