Job Description:
**Job Overview**
Lead the design and optimization of plating electrical control systems. Oversee the qualification, installation, and commissioning of new electrical equipment. Provide technical support for troubleshooting electrical issues in production. Ensure all electrical designs and plating equipment meet company standards and customer requirements, delivering high-quality, efficient, cost-effective, and safe solutions aligned with overall business strategy.
**Job Requirements**
+ Design, develop, and continuously improve electrical and PLC control systems for plating equipment to enhance performance, reliability, and safety.
+ Ensure compliance with applicable electrical standards, codes, and best practices.
+ Provide expert-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical, PLC, and automation issues to minimize production downtime.
+ Collaborate with equipment technicians to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
+ Work closely with mechanical design engineers to optimize new product designs and ensure seamless electrical–mechanical integration.
+ Evaluate and improve the plating shop’s electrical infrastructure in support of operational and business needs.
+ Identify electrical and fire hazards and lead safety improvements in alignment with EHS requirements.
+ Upgrade, maintain, and optimize PLC software, control systems, and HMI platforms (e.g., InTouch).
+ Create, maintain, and control documentation for electrical designs, PLC programs, wiring diagrams, and control logic, ensuring all changes are properly recorded.
+ Respond promptly to electrical control issues on plating lines to maintain production continuity.
+ Support the implementation and execution of EHS management systems within the plating department.
+ Communicate EHS policies, monitor compliance, and promote a safe working environment.
+ Provide technical training and guidance to technicians and operators, fostering knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
**What your background should look like**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical or mechatronics engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or plating environment.
+ Strong experience in electrical control design, machine automation, and programming.
+ Proficient in PLCs and industrial automation software (e.g., Wonderware InTouch or equivalent HMI systems).
+ Hands-on experience with PLC platforms, including GE (General Electric), Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, and Keyence.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
+ Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
+ Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage.
+ Proficient in reading, creating, and interpreting electrical schematics and control diagrams.
+ Good computer skills, including MS Office; SAP knowledge is an added advantage.
+ Proven experience in implementing automation improvements and delivering cost savings.
