EPC Project Manager (Solar Projects)

 

? About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive EPC Project Manager to lead the full lifecycle of solar power projects—from ready-to-build status through to commercial operation. This role requires strong technical knowledge and project management skills, as well as the ability to coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely project execution.

 

Key Responsibilities

Manage the entire EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) process for solar power projects. Lead design review meetings with stakeholders and prepare technical documentation for procurement. Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, and construction teams to maintain project schedules. Develop and manage project risk assessments throughout the project lifecycle. Support the structuring, negotiation, and execution of EPC proposals and contracts. Oversee project budgets, milestones, schedules, and deliverables. Ensure construction plans comply with local and prefectural regulations. Identify key constraints related to interconnection and site access. Conduct regular site visits and meetings to monitor progress and report on project status. Maintain responsibility for project delivery within budget.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. 5–10 years of hands-on experience in power plant project management. Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, and risk management. Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, PV*Case, and Excel. Knowledge of key contracting terms and EPC contract structures. Valid driver’s license (for driving in Japan). Native-level proficiency in either Japanese or English, with business-level fluency in the other.
