The Data Center Operations Manager is a key leadership role within the CBRE Data Center Solutions (DCS) team, offering leadership and guidance to ensure outstanding service delivery. They play a crucial role in cultivating and advancing the on-site technical workforce, working closely with clients and the CBRE leadership team to achieve strategic goals.
This role reports directly to both the Alliance Manager and Area General Manager and is tasked with overseeing all contractual service commitments, SLAs, and KPIs. This role ensures effective teamwork, enhances employee engagement, monitors individual performance and development, and improves retention.
This Hong Kong-based role will manage a regional portfolio of data center sites across the APAC region.
**Key responsibilities include:**
+ Safety and competency assurance of CBRE employees through active monitoring, employee and customer feedback, audit, and incident and near-miss analysis
+ Managing the relationship with the customer’s site managers to ensure requirements are understood and delivery requirements are met
+ Engages with and supports the CBRE on-site team, providing resolution pathways for training, development and employee matters
+ Monitoring and managing employees’ workload, utilization, and overtime hours
+ Oversight of resource demand and vacancies, support of the recruitment process to ensure timely appointment of quality candidates
+ Monthly/quarterly/annual reporting, participation in customer contract review meetings, KPI reporting
+ Incident investigation oversight, reporting, and governance for CBRE, and investigation support for customer events
+ Oversight of time-sheeting, including client and internal approvals, review and approval of CBRE invoices and claims
**Education:**
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, human resource management, business management, or a similar field, and/or five or more years’ experience leading large site-based teams operating in the critical infrastructure or ICT industry
**Experience:**
Previous experience as a team manager or service delivery manager is essential, and a Data Center operations background is advantageous
**Skills and competences:**
+ Strong people leader and relationship management skills
+ Commercial experience gained in a service-based contracting environment, preferably within the Data Center industry
+ “Manager level” knowledge of applicable labour laws
+ Sound knowledge of QHSE management legislation and practices, ideally gained within the mechanical (HVAC) and electrical work environment
+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently
+ Conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills
+ Excellent interpersonal skills (effective communication, negotiation, collaboration, the ability to be diplomatic and stand one’s ground), able to operate comfortably at multiple levels within CBRE and customer organisations
