Job Title: Environmental Specialist Location: Calera, Alabama Type: Contract Compensation: $32.00 hourly Contractor Work Model: Onsite System One is currently seeking an Environmental Specialist on a 5 month contract position located in Calera, AL. Environmental Specialist Responsibilities: + Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including air quality, water quality, waste management, and hazardous materials handling. + Conduct environmental audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions. + Stay updated on evolving environmental regulations and proactively implement necessary changes. Environmental Specialist Requirements: + Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field preferred. + Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permitting processes. + Project management skills with the ability to participate in a team setting on multiple projects simultaneously. + Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. + Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders. + Proficiency in environmental management software and data analysis tools. + Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Environmental Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) are a plus. + Physical ability to climb stairs. + Physical ability to pull up 50 pounds of equipment up to height using ropes. + Must be able to work at heights up to and exceeding 100 feet from grade. + Competent with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel software. + Must be able to use tools to fabricate simple mechanical systems. + Must be able to pull and back a trailer. Must be able to work in hot work areas.
