**About the Role**
We are seeking a **highly motivated, safety-focused, and results-driven Environmental Specialist** to join our Regional Compliance Team at **Chiquita Canyon Landfill** . This role is ideal for someone with 3–6 years of experience in environmental compliance who thrives in a hands-on, field-based role.
**What You’ll Do**
+ Oversee environmental compliance activities including audits, inspections, monitoring, and reporting.
+ Interpret and track site permits, regulatory orders, and ensure timely reporting.
+ Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies and support permit renewals and updates.
+ Analyze groundwater, wastewater, and stormwater data; support environmental reporting (e.g., SPCC, SWPPP, GHG, Title V).
+ Coordinate and manage third-party consultants and contractors.
+ Conduct internal inspections and support site visits and audits.
+ Develop and deliver training, SOPs, and compliance documentation.
+ Work in field conditions including exposure to landfill gas, odors, noise, and weather extremes.
**What You Bring**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental or Civil Engineering, Geology, or related field.
+ 3–6 years of relevant environmental compliance experience.
+ Strong knowledge of California environmental regulations.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and technical reporting.
+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
+ Willingness to travel (5%) and work occasional weekends.
+ Valid driver’s license and ability to use personal vehicle for site visits.
**Work Environment**
+ This is a **5-day on-site role** with occasional travel and fieldwork.
+ You’ll be part of a collaborative, mission-driven team committed to environmental stewardship and operational excellence.
