**Job Description**
AECOM is pursuing a strategic hire to expand our environmental presence in the Permian Basin, one of the most dynamic and strategically important energy regions in North America. We are seeking a senior-level full-scope environmental professional with experience across multiple practices—remediation, air, water, compliance, permitting, planning, natural resources, ESG, and construction support.
This individual will serve as both a seller/doer and technical leader, helping drive business development across all environmental practice lines while also managing high-profile projects and building a local team presence.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Strategic Growth & Client Engagement**
+ Serve as a primary client-facing leader in the Permian Basin, spanning Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities, Industrial, and Federal sectors.
+ Build and expand long-term relationships with clients; position AECOM across multiple environmental practices.
+ Collaborate with Client Account Managers (CAMs) and Practice Leaders to preposition for upcoming opportunities, drive account growth, and align pursuits to AECOM’s FY26 strategy.
+ Technical Delivery
+ Deliver multi-practice environmental solutions: remediation, permitting, air quality, water resources, compliance, natural resources, NEPA, sustainability/ESG, and construction oversight.
+ Act as PM or technical lead for complex, interdisciplinary environmental programs.
+ Ensure excellence in delivery, safety, and client satisfaction.
**Leadership & Team Building**
+ Mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff across practices.
+ Actively contribute to building a local AECOM presence in the Permian, with the goal of growing staff capability in Midland and surrounding areas.
+ Foster collaboration across departments and geographies.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline (Master’s preferred) AND 10 years of experience, including 2 years in a Leadership capacity, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
+ Successful candidate will have to pass Background check, Motor vehicle records check.
+ US citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ 15+ years of diverse environmental consulting/industry experience.
+ Proven track record in business development across multiple practice lines (not just one specialty).
+ Deep knowledge of environmental regulatory frameworks in Texas/New Mexico (TCEQ, RRC, NMED, EPA, USACE, USFWS, BLM, etc.).
+ Established client relationships in the Permian Basin.
+ Professional registration (P.E., P.G., CEM, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
**Additional Information**
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $150,000.00 - $200,000.00.
